The Bharathiar University , located in Coimbatore, was set up by the Tamil Nadu Government in February 1982, as per the Bharathiar University Act of 1981. Interestingly, the core of Bharathiar University is formed by the Postgraduate Centre of the University of Madras which used to operate in Coimbatore prior to 1982. It's great news that University Grants Commission (UGC) recognized Bharathiar University in 1985 for providing grants. Plus, it's a proud moment for us to share that our university is partnered with the MHRD National Knowledge Network.
